Jakudo has put together a slideshow of his trip to Africa, and has some
wonderful anecdotes to accompany the visual treats.  His presentation will
be casual and open-ended to allow time for questions and discussion.
Please come for what promises to be another cultural evening that will be
personally enriching as well as collectively rewarding for our community, and
do feel free to extend the invitation to friends or family who may be
interested in joining us for the evening.

ANGO OPENING
Sunday, October 19
Our last period of Ango will start at the zendo at 8:30am.  All Ango
participants are asked to attend.  At the end of this one month period, we
will officially end the 2008 Ango with a 3-day retreat at the Franciscan
Spiritual Center.  We expect all Ango participants to make every effort to be
present for the beginning and end of our last Ango period this year.

ADVISORY COUNCIL
High Mountain Crystal Lake has formed an Advisory Council (AC) made up of
senior members of the community. The Council was formed to help Genki
stay in touch with the various perspectives, concerns and needs of our
community. Unlike the Board of Directors, the Council is not a decision
making body. It holds discussions and offers differing viewpoints on topics
of interests and direction for our community and the development of its
work and practice. The Council meets every other month.
The next meeting
is Sunday, October 19 at 10:30am.
